When Newsweek released its rankings of the world’s greenest companies, it was no surprise that most of the top US companies were high tech. Because these businesses are trying to craft a reputation for creating the future, they want to be recognized as protecting the future as an arm of their overall marketing strategy.
That’s not to say that marketing is their only motivation, but it doesn’t hurt. What was a surprise on this list was to see companies like Johnson & Johnson and Office Depot in the top ten. Retail and pharmaceutical are normally thought of as major sources of pollution. As the accompanying article points out though, governments have largely dropped the green initiative due to economic woes and political turmoil. So it is encouraging to see businesses stepping up to bat for the environment, especially in industries that traditionally have been responsible for so much waste.

Tex Visions is proud to manufacture all of our advertising displays in a clean, eco-friendly manner. As a leading supplier of high quality advertising flags, banners and displays, we go to great lengths to create environmentally sustainable materials. We are committed to reducing our ecological impact wherever possible: during production and throughout our business practices.
Clients are more and more aware of the impact their purchases have on the environment and there is a growing demand for suppliers that are ecologically conscious. Below are just a few of the ways that Tex Visions is taking action to reduce our ecological footprint.
Recycled textiles
We offer resellers a variety of material options for printing fabrics. Not only do we produce our knitted polyester fabrics with recycled materials, we also create less waste in the long run by offering flags and banners that last longer than vinyl. All of our textile fabrics have successfully exceeded the Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 (Certification number 09.0.72745), which is the global authority in testing textiles for harmful substances.
Reduced water consumption
Printing images in such large sizes and quantities requires a great deal of water. To reduce our water consumption, we have invested in a sophisticated filtration system that uses reverse osmosis reclamation. This process purifies and recovers water so it can be reused in the printing process with reduced environmental impact. Our fixation and washing processes also extend the useful life of every banner we create.
Sustainable inks
Our dyes for screen and digital printing are water-based and inert, so they have significantly reduced environmental impact. For more information on the dyes and printing methods, see our production guide.
Conservation throughout the company
Our commitment to the conservation extends beyond just our printing processes. Here in the administrative offices, we have implemented programs for recycling and community action programs that you can read more about in upcoming blogs. To foster more paperless communications across the industry, we send out electronic proofs unless paper proofs are specifically requested.
These are just a sample of the programs we have put in place to make sure we can deliver high quality displays and display hardware in a sustainable manner. We welcome our friends, resellers, and competitors to join us in passing on a better world to the next generation.
